Pam Pappas
Sculptor and Painter
An inspired artist, Pam now works in multiple media. She started her art education at Colorado Mountain College, in Leadville, where she got her undergraduate degree. She then went to Rocky Mountain School of Art and Design in Denver. She moved from Denver to Manitou Springs in 2012. Pam has always been involved in fields that emphasis art. She worked as graphic designer and as a faux finisher specializing in murals and decorative finishes. Pam’s love of art has manifested itself in many ways. She is a sculptor and painter with multiple genres to choose from, all unique and alive. While she is out hiking, Pam finds unique wooden pieces, metal scraps, even animal skeletons that are twisted and bent. In her mind she sees a body part in the medium, envisions a completed form and sculpts it into a showpiece. She states her sculptures are a form of a self-portrait. Pam has been painting as long as she can remember. Her paintings are inspired by landscapes she finds in nature, but she adds a vibrancy, unique to her work. With her mono-prints she applies light, and color making common shapes, such as animals and dwellings, an unexpected surprise.
